Mission Statement and Purpose of Our Web Site

This web site was originated in the spring of 1998 and is dedicated to our family members, immediate and extended. This includes our beloved ancestors to whom we owe so much. We repeat here the dedication statement on the Home Page of this web site:

Genealogy is more than the research of names, places and dates. It is also the gathering of stories of the lives of the men and women who came before us. We dedicate these pages to our ancestors who came to the Americas on ships like the one pictured on our Home Page to seek lives of opportunity and adventure for themselves and their posterity.

We are sharing what we know of our family history, complete with biographies and documentation. If you have anything to add or to correct, please let us know.

MISSION STATEMENT OF OUR WEB SITE

The Purpose of our web site is to:

  • Build bridges between the generations of our families
  • Inform our family of our ancestors by collecting as many biographies as possible
  • Develop an appreciation for our ancestors
  • Build a foundation upon which future generations may continue the work of family research by providing as much documentation as is reasonable
  • Prepare names for the temples

How to do this:

  • Develop and maintain this web site
  • Make certain that the web site will continue into perpetuity
  • Place family research information on computerized genealogy programs such as Personal Ancestor File 4.0 (or its successors) including ample documentation
  • Keep original documents in a safe place
  • Promote the site so that others who are researching the same lines will be aware of it
