I am presently making the vest below, I have completed the back section, and left front.

Shawl Collared Vest (Beginner)
Sizes: Small (Medium, Large)
MATERIALS: Tahki Laguna, 5 (5, 6) 3-1/2 oz (100 gm) skeins.
Knitting needles sizes 5 and 7 U.S. (4 and 5 continental) (8 and 6 U.K.); 3 stitch holders; 4 buttons.
GAUGE: 9 sts = 2 inches.(5 cm) and 6 rows = 1 inch.(2.5 cm) with larger needles. To save time, take time to check gauge.
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS AT UNDERARM: 37-1/4 (40, 42-3/4) inches. (94.6, 101.6, 108.6 cm).
PATTERN STITCHES: Pat A: Row 1: K 1, * p 1, k 1: rep from *. Repeat this row for pattern.
Pat B: Row 1(right side): * k 1, p 1; rep from * to last st, k 1.
Row 2 and 4: Knit the k sts and Purl the p sts as the work faces you.
Row 3: * P 1, k 1; rep from * to last st, p 1. Repeat Rows 1 - 4 for pattern.
Note: this is a loose fitting garment.
BACK: With smaller needles cast on 67 (71, 75) sts.
Work in Pat A for 25 rows. Change to larger needles and p 1 row inc 18 (20,22) sts evenly spaced across row = 85 (91,97) sts.
Row 1: K 4, work Row 1 of Pat B over 13 (15, 15) sts, k 51 (53, 59) sts, work Row 1 of Pat B over 13 (15, 15) sts, K 4.
Row 2: P 4, work Row 2 of Pat B over 13 (15, 15) sts, p 51 (53, 59) sts; work Row 2 of Pat B over 13 (15, 15) sts, P 4, continue to work 4 rows Pat B and stockinette stitch until back measures 21 (21-1/2, 22) inches. (53.2, 54.2, 56 cm) ending with a wrong side row.
Shape Shoulder: Bind off 26 (28, 30) sts at beg of next 2 rows. Bind off rem 33 (35, 37) sts for back neck edge.
LEFT FRONT: With smaller needles cast on 45 (47, 49) sts. Work in Pat A for 25 rows. Change to larger needles.
Row 1: (wrong side): Work Pat A over 21 (23, 25) sts, inc 8 (10, 12) sts evenly spaced across
rem 24 sts = 53 (57, 61) sts.
Row 2: K 4, work Row 1 of Pat B over 13 (15, 15) sts, k 15 (15, 17) sts, work Pat A over
21 (23, 25) sts. Continue as established for 16-1/2 (17, 17-1/2) inches (41.9, 43.2, 44.5 cm) from beginning, ending with a wrong side row.
Shape neck: Work to within 2 sts of Pat A panel, k 2 sts tog, work Pat A.
Keeping to Pats, work decrease before Pat A panel as established every 4 rows 5 times more. Work until front measures same as back to shoulder, ending with a right side row.
Shape shoulder: At side edge bind off 26 (28, 30) sts. Place rem 21 (23, 25) sts on holder.
RIGHT FRONT: With small needles cast on 45 (47, 49) sts. work in Pat A for 6 rows. Buttonhole row: Work 2 sts, bind off 3 sts, work 11 sts, bind off 3 sts, work rem sts.
Row 2: Work to bound off sts, cast on 3 sts, work 11 sts, cast on 3 sts, work 2 sts.Continue in
Pat A for 1 inch (2.5 cm) more. Repeat buttonhole rows. Continue Pat A until 25 rows have been completed. Change to larger needles inc 8 ( 10, 12) sts evenly spaced across first 24 sts, work Pat A over rem 21 (23,25) sts. Continue as for left front reversing all shapings.
FINISHING: Sew front to back at shoulders. Slip stitches from left front holder to a larger needle. cont in Pat A until collar reaches center back. Bind off. Work sts on right front holder to correspond. Sew collar seam invisibly. Sew collar to back neck edge.
Armbands: Mark front and back at side edges 10 (10-1/2, 11) inches (25.3, 26.5, 27.8 cm) down from shoulder seam. With right side facing and smaller needle pick up and k 71 (75, 79) sts between markers. Work in Pat A for 1 inch (2.5 cm). Bind off. Sew side seams.
BABY AFGHAN
FAN and FEATHER
Size: 35 inch x 45 inch (approx.)before fringing
Materials: Worsted weight yarn, 20 ounces white,
14 inch straight knitting needles size 11 (Canadian size 1)
Gauge: In stockinette stitch, 3-1/2 inches = 1 inch; 9 rows = 2 inches.
INSTRUCTIONS
Cast on 138 stitches loosely. Rows 1-6: Knit across.
Row 7(wrong side): Knit 6, (knit 2 together) 3 times, *(yarn over, knit 1) 6 times, (knit 2 together) 6 times; repeat from * 5 times, (yarn over, knit 1) 6 times, (knit 2 together) 3 times, knit 6.
Row 8: Knit across.
Row 9: Knit 6, purl 126, knit 6.
Row 10: Knit across. Repeat Rows 7 -10 until work measures 44 inches from cast-on edge,
ending by working Row 10.
Repeat Rows 1 - 6 once.
Bind off all stitches and weave in all ends.
Fringe
BASIC FRINGE INSTRUCTIONS: Cut a piece of cardboard about 8 inches wide and half as long as specified in instructions for finished strands. Wind yarn loosely around cardboard, cut across one end when card is filled. Repeat several times and then start finging; you can wind more strands as you need them.
Fringe for Fan and Feather: Cut 10 inch strands. Using 1 strand for each knot of fringe, place a knot in each stitch across both ends of afghan.
BABY AFGHAN
SEED STITCH BORDER
Size: 36 inch x 40 inch (approx.)
Materials: Worsted weight yarn, 18 ounces coral;
14 inch straight knitting needles size 11 ( Canadian size 1)
Gauge: In stockinette stitch, 3-1/2 inches = 1 inch; 9 rows = 2 inches.
PATTERN STITCH
Seed Stitch Row 1: Knit 1, * purl 1, knit 1; repeat from * across row. Repeat this row for pattern.
INSTRUCTIONS
Cast on 125 stitches loosely.
Rows 1 - 10: Work in seed stitch.
Row 11: Knit 1, (purl 1, knit 1) 3 times, knit 111, knit 1, (purl 1, knit 1) 3 times.
Row 12: Knit 1, (purl 1, knit 1) 3 times, purl 111, knit 1, (purl l, knit 1) 3 times.
Repeat Rows 11 and 12 until work measures 39 inches from cast-on edge. Then
repeat Rows 1 -10 once.
Bind off in seed stitch. Weave in all ends.
