A Tribute To Lindbergh

Oh, Lindy flew over the ocean.
Oh, Lindy flew over the sea.
Oh, who will go over to Europe
and bring back my Lindy to me?

It doesn't take wars to make hero's.
Our Lindbergh has proven it so.
It doesn't take fame or take money.
It just takes the courage to go.

There is a great ship called the Memphis
That's sailing upon the broad sea.
We'll send it right over to Europe
To bring back my Lindy to me.

It only took courage that morning
When off toward heaven he flew.
He reached there all hail to his courage.
The whole world today honors you.

Oh Lindberg, our daring young hero.
Oh Lindy, our hero with wings.
The people of Europe all praise you
And so do their Presidents and Kings.

He didn't fly merely for glory.
He didn't fly only for fame.
He flew for the sake of achievement
And millions now honor his name.

They offer you jewels and medals.
They offer you silver and gold;
But not half of your modest young manhood
To Europe has ever been told.
