Thomas Bassett was born 1617 in England, and died 1655 in York Co., Virginia. He married Mary Felgate 1642 in York Co., Virginia, daughter of Robert Felgate. She was born 1622 in Probably England, and died January 1677/78 in York Co., Virginia.

Notes for Thomas Bassett:
He immigrated in 1635 to from England to Barbados. Thomas, age 18, sailed from England in "Truelove" June 10 1635, to land in Bermuda or Somer-Islands. He died about 1655 in York County, Virginia. His son, William, was under 18.

I believe that the following may be for the father of Thomas.
On 22 Mar 1624: The Record of the Virginia Company of London note that: Wm Bassett was one of the massacred by the savages of Virginia. Notice to be given to his family in England, "to the end that Heyres(Heirs) may take heed for the property: College People (about 2 miles from Henry City, Va.) Copy filed under Va Prob. or Land and Prop. 1639 Apr 18: Thomas received 150 acres bounding E & W on Chickahominy N to Stopcock, Virginia (taken into New Kent County in1654)

Notes for Mary Felgate:
On 24 Sep 1655 in York County, Virginia, she filed a claim for - and was granted - the entire estate of Robert Felgate as his only heir. Her surety was Capt. William Barber.

William Bassett was born 1646 in York Co., Virginia, and died May 1724. He married Ann 1665 in York Co., Virginia. She was born 1645 in York Co., Virginia.

He was minor when his father died.

Weisiger III, 1987, p. 159 At a Court Held for York County 2 Nov 1667...Mr. William Bassett, having attained age of 21, is to be possessed of his estate in hands of Capt. John Underhill, his guardian and father in law [step-father]. He Was appointed Vestryman and Church Warden between 1684 and 1718 in St. Peter's Parish, New Kent County, Virginia. In 1722, he was one of three executors to the will of Governor Berkeley.

He died before May 1724 in New Kent County, Virginia.
