Death notice of J.J. Baker in Manchester Times, February 16, 1917.

The man who hauled the machinery from Nashville to the old paper mill at Manchester is dead. J.J. Baker of Prairie Plains held the honor of helping to install the machinery which was one of the greatest industries of the state in its day.
Mr. Baker was 82 years old at the time of his death and had suffered for several months from a chronic ailment. His death occasioned deep regret among a host of friends and acquaintances.
He is survived by 12 children- 6 sons and 6 daughters. The remains were buried Friday at Prairie Plains. Mr. Baker was one of the best town men in the county and was very popular in the community. He was one of the oldest men in this section of the state.

Mrs. Martha Rebecca Dotson of Hillsboro, died Thursday of last week at the home of her son Alfred Dotson of Hillsboro. She was 95 years old. Mrs. Dotson was a native of Coffee County.
Services were Saturday at Manchester Funeral Home with the Reverend Jerry Mayo and the Reverend Earl Hannah officiating. Burial was in Rutledge Hill Cemetery.
Other survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Anderson Buckner of Manchester, Mrs. O.H. Henley and Mrs. Gilbert Buckner of Hillsboro, and Mrs. A.V. Chapman of Akron Ohio; two brothers, John Baker and Leonard Baker of Waco, Texas; 23 grandchildren and 49 great grandchildren.

1 Killed 2 injured in Collision.

A Crawford man was killed and two Waco residents were injured in a head on collision on Highway 6 Saturday afternoon, Department of Public Safety Officials said.
L.J. Baker, 92, of Crawford died Saturday evening at a local hospital from injuries sustained in the accident which occurred at 1:10 P.M..
The driver of the other vehicle, Norman Alexander Phillips, 62, of 5028 Lake Shore Drive was listed in critical condition in the intensive care unit of Providence Hospital. A hospital spokeswoman said. Phillip's wife Peggy N. Phillips was listed in satisfactory condition at Hillcrest Hospital.
The accident occurred on state highway 6 one mile west of F.M. 185. Baker was traveling west and Phillips was traveling east when the accident occurred the DPS reported.

Lenard Baker, 92, of Crawford, a retired farmer died Saturday at a Waco Hospital. Services will be at 1 P.M. Monday at the Connally-Compton Funeral Home West Chapel Dennis Koeger officiating. Burial will be at Rosemound Cemetery.
Mr.Baker was born October 14, 1890 in Tennessee.
Survivors include two sons, Raymond J. Baker of Waco and Dan Baker of Crawford; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
