Limited Edition 1998 Halloween Puffkins
These 4 Puffkins: Gourdy the Pumpkin, Ding the Bat, Hazel the Witch and Red the Devil were sent to retailers who ordered them in the Fall of 1998. They were the very first "Limited Edition" Puffkins. A special tag was made with the "bat logo" on it:
All four 1998 Limited Edition Halloween Puffkins
have a 10/31/97 birthdate
These are the poems:
"Gourdy is big and round,
usually found close to the ground
His face was carved very slow, Pick him up and see him glow"
"Listen quietly for a flap, Then you'll know
it's Ding the bat
He is flying through your home town, Looking for a place to hang upside down"
"Hazel is a nineties witch,
Traded her broomstick without a hitch
A vacuum cleaner gave her more power, Now she flies 50 mph"
"I'm the Devil, just call me
Red.
Two big horns are on my head.
Sometimes people stop and stare, But being who I am I don't really care"
Gourdy and Ding were definitely the favorites, but all four of these first Limited Edition Holiday Puffkins sold out quickly and they set the stage for many more Limited Edition Holiday Puffkins in the future.
