Snowball with pink nose looks exactly the same as Snowball with black nose (except of
course, for nose color!) He will also have a dark purple tag only. Tasha was the first
Puffkin to sport the new 3rd generation tag! BE CAREFUL: Some people who don't realize
that Tasha and pink/lavender nose Snowball are EXACTLY the same Puffkin try to sell Tasha
without a tag as a "tagless pink/lavender nose Snowball". There is no such
thing. Any lavender/pink nose white tiger without the Snowball tag should be considered as
a common, current Tasha.
Swibco's official web page says that 5,000 of the total 12,000 Snowballs made have either a pink or lavender nose. Most of the pink noses I have seen have been large, and a pretty pink like this picture. The lavender nose Snowballs seem to have a smaller nose that is more "purplish" color. It can be very difficult to know the difference until you place them side by side. Snowball was retired in August of 1997. It has been reported that you can still find him in some little stores in remote areas. I personally have looked far and long (even getting a ladder to check every single Tasha tag at Six Flags Magic Mountain gift shop) and have never been that lucky. Hopefully you will have better luck!
I'm going to post a picture of lavender nose Snowball very soon! The nose looks
pink, but has this slight tinge of violet coloring to it. Swibco never intended for the
nose to be this color and they consider both lavender and pink to be "pink nose
Snowball". It seems that the bright pink noses are the older "pink nosed"
Snowballs, then the coloring was changed to the violet right before the name change to
Tasha. So, some of the lavender nosed tigers went out Swibco's doors with the Snowball
name right before the tag was changed to Snowball. Then, it seems, the first Tasha's still
had the lavender nose until Swibco had the manufacturer change back to a brighter pink. If
that is correct, then bright pink nose Snowball would be an "older" version of
Snowball then lavender nose. Swibco does not have a distinction in numbers as to how many
Snowballs were pink and how many were lavender. We can only assume that lavender would be
the most common since it is the most recent.... however, this is just an assumption since
we don't actually know if there are more lavender nose than pink nose, or vice versa.
