The HANCOCK Family

The Hancock family begins with my first ancestor to come to America, William Hancock. William was a member of "The Virginia Company", a group of businessmen investing in the settlement of an area later to be known as Jamestown, VA. He came to Virginia in 1619 aboard the "Margaret" of Bristol and lived on the Berkeley Hundred Plantation. Here is some background information about the family or select a link below to view the generations of this family.

Generations:

Generation #1 Generation #6 Generation #11
Generation #2 Generation #7 Generation #12
Generation #3 Generation #8 Generation #13
Generation #4 Generation #9 Generation #14
Generation #5 Generation #10

The Hancock family discussion list is currently working on a project to list all lines of the families Hancock/Handock. You can join us on the discussion list by sending a Subscribe message to HANCOCK-L-request@rootsweb.com. You can also visit the site for the Hancock/Handcock Project. Included in the Project, which has been put together by the Hancock Discussion List, are many lines of the Hancock family. Also links to lots of Hancock research sites.
