The Latrine
Home Up

Props: A blanket or another similar item.

Setup: Two Scouts are holding up a blanket.

Cast: Innkeeper, several travelers

Innkeeper stands near his "inn" (the blanket)

Traveler approaches Innkeeper - "Boy am I tired, do you have any rooms to rent?"

Innkeeper:  "My Inn is full, but I do have that latrine over there." (Pointing to blanket)

Traveler:  I am so tired I could sleep anywhere.  I'll take it." He goes behind the blanket.

This same scene continues through the remaining travelers.

Innkeeper: (yawning)" Well, it is time to go to bed."  (Pretends to go to sleep)

Innkeeper: (waking up) "What a beautiful morning!"

The travelers, minus one, come out from the latrine.  All are commenting on good night's sleep...

Innkeeper: " Hey guys, I thought there were # of you, where is the other guy?"

Travelers:  "It got crowded in there so we put him in the basement!"
