CUB SCOUT LEADER BASIC TRAINING
aka Akaela Training
This training is essential to all adults who are in any active leadership position in the Pack; Cubmaster, Den Leader, Webelos Den Leader and their assistants, as well as Pack Committee members and Den Leader Coaches. It's everything you need to know, and more, to be a successful leader of Cubs.
There are 3 methods of training available:
ONE DAY COURSE: 8 hours of training as a group. An excellent way to convery the plan and methods of Cub Scouting with fun and fellowship.
THREE STEP COURSE: Step 1 is a 2-1/2 hour evening group session, followed by a home study period of one or two weeks. After completion of the home study workbook, the groups meets again for a 2-1/2 hour final session.
SELF-STUDY: Used only when group sessions are unavailable or a leader is unable to attend a scheduled course.
WEBELOS LEADER OUTDOOR TRAINING: It is essential that Webelos Leaders attend Cub Scout Leader Basic prior to attending this weekend course of outdoor skills and Webelos Activity Badges>
Cub Scout Leader Basic Training (CSLBT) courses are held in the spring and fall on a district or council basis. Leaders may attend the session at a time and plave convenient to them.
CUB SCOUT LEADER'S POW WOW
The annual Cub Scout Leader's Pow Wow is a happy, fun-filled, ideas extravaganza - an unusual convention. It's purpose is to provide an annual opportunity for all Cub Scout leaders - experienced or new or prospective - to learn and to share ideas. This means it is for den leaders, den leader coaches, Webelos den leaders, Cubmasters, all their assistants, pack committee members, and interested parents.
Leaders look forward to this opportunity to exhibit samples of the crafts made by Cub Scouts, to practice and exchange new game ideas, to learn to use new ceremony equipment and ideas, to learn how to relate craft ideas to themes. For Webelos Den Leaders, it is an excellent opportunity to share program ideas and resources. It is a place where the purpose of Cub Scouting can be emphasized, policies can be clarified and successful procedures can be recommended.
ADVANCED ADULT LEADER TRAINING
CUB SCOUT WOODBADGE
