2000 RACE RULES
1. | The race will be a double elimination. Each car will race at least twice before being eliminated. | |
2. | If a car jumps off the track, the heat will be rerun with the cars in the same lanes. | |
If the same car jumps off the track the second time, the heat will be reran with the car in a different lane. | ||
If the car jumps off the third time, it will automatically loose the heat. | ||
3. | If a car leaves its lane and interferes with another car, refer to rule #2. If the heat cannot be ran without | |
the offending car interfering with the other cars, the heat will be reran without the offending car. | ||
4. | If a car develops a mechanical problem, and repairs can be accomplished in a reasonable time, | |
(with the help of race officials if necessary) the heat will be run again. | ||
5. | The judges at the finish line have final say as to finishing order. In the event of a tie, the heat will be run again. | |
6. | Only race officials and volunteers will be permitted into the registration and track area. | |
7. | Cars will be delivered back and forth between the judging tables and the race track by official runners only. | |
8. | Each car must pass inspection by the Official Inspection Team at weigh in. (Refer to "GRAND PRIX | |
RACE CAR SPECIFICATIONS") If a car fails to meet these specifications, the owner of the car will | ||
be informed of the violations and given an opportunity to correct the problem. | ||
9. | After weigh in only race officials may handle the cars. | |
10. | Each car will be assigned a number at weigh in, This number will be placed on the bottom of the car. | |
11. | Any participant, including a parent of the participant, has the right of appeal to the Race Committee | |
for an interpretation of these rules. In the case of a tie vote, the decision of the Race Committee | ||
Chairperson will be final. | ||
12. | Unsportsmanlike conduct by a participant will be grounds for expulsion from the competition. | |
13. | Only dry powderd graphite, dry teflon or official BSA White lube may be used. Lubricating must be | |
done at the predetermined table. | ||
14. | Scouts must be in Uniforms. | |
15. | If a car passes inspection and later is found not to conform to the specifications below, | |
it will be removed from the compitition. |
GRAND PRIX RACE CAR SPECIFICATIONS
1. | The width of the car shall not exceed 2 3/4 inches. | |
2. | The length of the car shall not exceed 7 inches. | |
3. | The weight of the car shall not exceed 5 ounces, the scale on site is the official scale. | |
4. | Wheel Bearings, Enclosed axles/wheels, washers and bushings are not permitted. | |
5. | Only official BSA Grand Prix Wheels and Axles are permitted. | |
(no recontoured wheels – the wheels must remain 90% flat) | ||
6. | The car shall not ride on any type of springs. | |
7. | Any details added must be within length, width and weight limits mentioned above. | |
8. | All cars must have been made during the current year. (Except for the Open Division.) | |
9. | The car must be freewheeling, with no starting devices. | |
10. | No loose material of any kind ( such as lead shot) are not allowed in the car. |
