Jesus, Others & You

Hi Ladies! I want to thank the Lord for the ability to use the internet to share the saving grace of the Lord with others, to share my life's experiences, and to learn from and to teach others.

Most of you who visit this site are military wives, so you know the ups & downs of moving around frequently! I grew up moving around quite a bit, but within the same state. Almost once a year, a new house - a new school - new friends. We may leave behind family, friends we've known for years (or feel like we have), a wonderful church, great school, or just a part of the country we adore. We don't always realize just how much moving can affect us.

If you feel lonely, detached, numb, sad, it's normal. You're grieving all you've left behind, much like when a death or divorce happens. You aren't crazy. You will go through grief. And it's OK to cry! Those tears are a part of healing, don't keep them bottled up! You may feel cut off from your family and friends, but you are never cut off from God. He didn't bring you to where you are to abandon you. Even though God does great things in your life (and your move), there are going to be emotional lows that are a natural part of letting go. You aren't alone!

Claim this as your moving verse: "Do not call to mind the former things, or ponder things of the past. Behold, I will do something new. Now it will spring forth; will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, rivers in the desert" (Isaiah 43:18-19, NASB) This verse reminds us not to dwell in the past; that God will do something new and eventually it's going to be obvious. Even though you're in an unknown place, He'll make a way for you, and bring refreshing waters of new life to your withering heart. What a wonderful reminder that God brings about new things! And with our Lord, there is always hope for the future!
