This Week's Happening's!

16 May 1999

WOW!!! Yes it is true! We are back online, and back into the swing of almost normalcy! We have moved on base and have a real phone, and air conditioning (thank goodness) and all the rest that living onbase has to offer! If anyone is interested, the phone number here is 011-34-95-584-8533. Not too many numbers to punch! I do hope that is correct, it is the one the operator gave me!

I am doing well. Took leave for 11 days durring this move, so I have had last week since Tuesday off, and I don't go back to work until Sunday! We are in a 4 on, 2 off schedule right now, but all in all, things are normal here. Since our last installment, I have become the Booster Club President, the Schools Officer... not a DARE Officer... I set the budget, coordinate the bus scheduling, assist the commander with any issues between DODDS (the school) and the cumunity. The commander and the "out going" school officer picked me for the job. I guess that when I landed here with new ideas and the willingness to go get them done got me the job. It is fun though... sure makes the time go by fast! Cheri and I can't believe it is already half way through May!

Speaking of Cheri, she is the best! She got the off base house ready for the move, got me ready for the move, juggled the kids... the dog... the husband... and had it all ready to go! Then she was here for the delivery and pointing the movers in the direction for all the furniture and started unpacking! All we really have left to do is the boxes from the bedrooms... clothes and whatever's! She is so excited in this house! It really is bigger feeling... no wasted space! She was so ready for the move, that she had measured the rooms, and then mapped out where everything was to go.... and it went exactly where she said it would! The movers were impressed in our room... she said that there would be 1/2 inch left over on a wall with two dressers and the King size waterbed... and there was actually 1/2 inch left over! Amazing! Cheri is officially the Den Mother for the Girl Scouts for the next year! She is excited! So are the kids!

Speaking of the kids... The girls are doing great! They are in full swing of being kids and having a blast doing it! Since moving on base, we have not really seen either of them! Caroline spent last night at a buddies, and Chelsea has just been plain GONE! Playing and having a blast! That is what they do best!

It is deffinatly getting warm now! It has hit the mid to high 90's a couple of times last week, and being off base at the time... WOW... hot! Not that I don't like the heat... but with not one chance for escape without the airconditioner... that was hot!
As you have seen... we are here and having a blast! Come by whenever you feel like it, and we will do it up right!
