Sorry that it has been 2 weeks since the last installment, but not much happened the first week! So here is a two week update, and I will say that it is worth the wait! Since the last installment, Cheri has gone through every room and closet except the kitchen in preperation for the move! There just isn't much left in the form of "user" stuff. I got rid of clothes that I have not even taken off a hanger, or taken out of the drawer for at least 3 years... Cheri did much of the same. We can get all of our clothes into 3 suitcases! Talk about getting it down to what we really need! The girls clothes will fit into 1 suitcase each, so we are in good shape there. We have trimmed out all of the old toys, clothes, shoes and general things that are no longer used and given them to people who "need" them. All of the girls stuff went to a Spanish friend who has a HUGE family with a LOT of little girls now... so they were happy, and we got rid of about 300 lbs of non-useable clothing! Really taking a look at what we are about to drag around the world AGAIN and getting rid of what is not important to us. We pack up on 6 November... whew... this is coming fast now!
Well, I called the base that I am going to and found out that the Special Duty assignment that I have will only be a 2 year tour/max 3 year. So needless to say, that changes ALL of our plans for housing. We were planning on buying, but with only a 2 year tour we are going to have to rent... so here goes... and here we go with another "short" tour. That is ok though. We know, and we can do what we want because we are in the States! I will probably extend it for 6 months to get into the summertime move for the kids school, but that is 2 years from now... anything can happen! Should also be able to stay in the USA on the next move also... One thing is for sure still... we are EXCITED to be going to Moody AFB, in Valdosta GA! Can't wait!
The girls are doing great!!!! They have been trooping along with a song and a smile! It has been fun this year with them. Caroline and Chelsea could not be more different, yet they sure are sisters! School is great with them, and their friends are even better than ever! There was a huge influx of families, so the kid population has doubled... much to their excitement.
