Here's a map to help you on your way:
Once you've arrived in London, the directions are:
- Take the Picadilly line tube to Hyde Park Corner station (red and blue on the map above. Tube directions are:
- Direct service from King's Cross and St Pancaras.
- Euston and Victoria (including Victoria coach station): take Victoria line to Green Park and change.
Those arriving from Victoria may wish to avoid the underground station there, due to construction work closing one escalator. If you prefer, walk up Grosvenor Gardens and Grosvenor Place to arrive on the South side of Hyde Park Corner.
- Marylebone, Waterloo, Paddington: take Bakerloo to Picadilly Circus and change.
- Charing Cross: take Jubilee to Green Park and change.
- London Bridge: take Northern to Bank, Central to Holborn and change; or take Thameslink to Kings Cross and Picadilly from there.
- Liverpool Street: take Central to Holborn and change.
- Cannon Street, Blackfriars: take District or Central to Victoria and follow directions from there.
- In event of line closure, the best alternative is Marble Arch on the Central line. This station is just off the top right of the map.
- Note: the Circle line is currently closed, making the connection from Marylebone and Paddington via Earl's Court an even worse idea than it usually is.
- At Hyde Park Corner station, surface and turn left out of the station. This will take you through a subway under a busy road.
- In the park, head away from the statue of the naked man (Achilles), and turn left to the War Memorial and the north side of the Serpentine. Alternately, walk through the formal gardens which run parallel to the correct path.
- Then head to the band stand - one of the blue dots on the map.
- Our cafe is a little way past this - the other blue dot.
Listees may be sat in the cafe, in the band stand, or on the grass or benches nearby, depending on the weather. Look out for us: we'll be there.
Next meeting: 12:30 pm, Sunday July 25.
