1 | I GET LONELY - Janet Jackson | The Velvet Rope | 11-2 |
2 | FATHER - LL Cool J | 29-3 | |
3 | ALL I WANT IS YOU - 911 | The Journey | 15-2 |

8 | THIS IS HARDCORE - Pulp | This is Hardcore | 25-1 |
9 | DESTINY CALLING - James | The Greatest Hits | 30-1 |
10 | HOLLER - Ginuwine | 27-1 |
New ones from Janet Jackson and 911 fall just short, while Kylie Minogue's hit making touch seems to have left her. Note also the poor performances of teen faves Hanson, and Pulp, whose single preceeded the album.

The Spices hold at the top here for the second month, and have a main chart entry, as do the Backstreets. Verve have had two hits since "Bittersweet", which is picking up points based on its return to airplay lists. Chumbawumba show the strength of both their hits, while archive material from George Michael and Everything But the Girl shows its enduring powers.
