The ferry from St John's to take tourists round the harbour. In the background is Cape Spear, the most easterly point in North America. This picture taken from the top of Signal Hill on 1/1/98. |

The statue of Peter Pan in Bowering Park, in West St John's. This is one of two statues created by Sir Peter Bowering, and is the companion to the better known statue on the Serpentine in Hyde Park, London. This picture taken 1/1/98. |
The city of St John's, as seen from the top of Signal Hill, near Cabot Tower. The harbour dominates the middle ground of the picture. The main downtown area is on the waterfront opposite us, while the community of Mount Pearl curves away to the left. Although this picture was taken 1/1/98, note that there was very little lying snow. This is, I'm told, quite normal for that time of year. |

We see Ali and friend Lynette attempting to put on a kaftan from Indonesia. The garment is about 2 metres by 3 metres, and (apparently) can be worn in one of three ways. This is one of them. Apparently, using the cloth as a table covering is not included in the tally. Picture taken at Ali's flat, 12/30/97.

Amanda Labonte, aka Father Laa-Laa Bonte, hears the Teletubbies record, and doesn't really know whether to laugh or be very, very afraid. By the end of the track, she was convinced they were the work of the devil. The response of the PeriSpeak to this information is not recorded, but is believed to be Nooooooooooo...... Picture taken 12/30/97. |
A snow scene, of the bush by the bus stop near the centre of the village. The dark figure in front of the building is a statue of a seated woman, presented to Codsall in 1948. Behind it is part of the Crown public house. This picture taken during a snow storm, Jan 5 98. |

The imposing Norman structure of St Nicholas' Church. This picture taken from Church Lane, next to the notice board, Jan 5 98. |
And finally, a picture of myself and Ali. Taken 12/31/97 in Ali's flat.
And finally, a link to The Test Card Gallery and a selection of music.
