This is Jim, my husband's younger brother. Jim was a dear friend and inspiration to me and my daughter. He immediately accepted us into the family, when Star Ranger and I were married.
He was such a tease and joker with me. He loved and admired his big brother, my husband, the eldest of the family of 6 children, very much. And he cherished our daughter, as if she were his own.
In July 1994, after we first moved here we got a call from California that Jim was stricken with an unexpected very severe heart attack. He was only 42. We were told that he had died 6 times in his home while the emergency crew was treating at the scene. I was asked to come out to California, by the family, as he would not mind or listen to any of the nurses or family. They knew that he would listen to me. Within about 2 months, Jim became well enough that he was released and sent home for awhile to get strength built up for sugery.
In March 1995, We got another call that Jim was stricken again, and this time, we were told that he might not survive. I immediately got some time off, and went back out. Once again, I was unofficially assigned has his private nurse, with the cooperation and agreement of the staff nurses & his doctor. Jim would not listen to them, and would become enraged, which he was absolutely not supposed to do in his condition. He demanded to have "Marlita" to tell him what to do, and calm down. This continued for about 2 more weeks, as he was not getting rid of the fluid, after 2 and one half weeks things were looking up somewhat, and I returned home, I was here for about 2 days and we got another call that he would not survive,as the doctor said his heart was too damaged, so we both left and went back, we made it there for about 1 and one half days and then he passed away.
