Committees


Christian Education
This committee is responsible for assuring that our church offers a vital education program of spiritual nurture and formation for all age groups in the church.

Deacon Concerns
This committee is responsible for offering ministries of sympathy and service to the sick, shut-in, and others in special need. The committee is also responsible for preparing the elements for celebrations of the Lord's Supper.

Finance
This committee is responsible for coordinating the investment and expenditure of church funds. Chairperson and vice chairperson of this committee serve on the Insurance committee.

Membership Development
This committee is responsible for providing programs for recruiting church members, orienting new church members, and offering social fellowship opportunities for all ages.

Nominating
This committee is responsible for nominating to the congregation church members to be considered for election to the Session and for nominating to the Session church members to be considered for appointment to Session committees. Chairperson of this committee serves as chairperson of the Heritage committee.

Personnel Committee
This committee is responsible for all matters of nurture, support, and accountability of paid church staff.

Property
This committee is responsible for providing the management and maintenance of the property of the church. Chairperson and vice chairperson of this committee serve on the Insurance committee.

Social Concerns
This committee is responsible for overseeing the planning and implementing of the mission ministry of the congregation.

Stewardship
This committee is responsible for fostering spiritual growth of church members through financial stewardship and providing financial support for the ministries of the church.

Worship
This committee is responsible for working with the pastor, director of music, and organist to assure that the worship life of the congregation remains vibrant and responsive.

Heritage
This committee is responsible for advising the Session concerning additions to, or changes in, church property and furnishings to ensure their suitability and compatibility with church architecture and decor. The committee is responsible also for advising the Session on the advisabiliity of accepting specific donations of furniture or other material items offered to the church. Chairperson of the Nominating Committee serves as chairperson of the Heritage Committee.

Insurance
This committee is responsible for advising Session on all church insurance matters. Committee is compiled of the chairperson and vice chairperson of both the Finance and Property Committees.

Library
This committee is responsible for the care and maintenance of the Harriet Carter Memorial Library and for ordering new material for the library. Library Committee reports to the Christian Education Committee.
