Music Time = Fun Time |
Important note to all parents:
If your little ones love music the way Kennedy does, you owe it to them to expose them to joyful, meaningful, quality music as early & as often as possible.
There's an overwhelming amount of kid's music available on video. Let me tell you, not all of it is good. Puffy dinosaurs, in my opinion, make lousy entertainers (that's a whole other page in itself)!
JBy chance we stumbled upon a video from Cedarmont Kids called Action Bible Songs, and picked it up mostly because it had songs we remembered from our youth (Rise and Shine, If You're Happy and You Know It, Father Abraham, etc.)
We could have never imagined just how wonderful these videos are. They are imaginative, creative, fun, upbeat, educational, (get the thesaurus!). There's several different ones, and they're all of exceptional quality. Most carry a Christian theme throughout, yet leave no impression of pushing any overt religious opinion. Basically, these tapes leave you (and your child) feeling really good. The choreography, singing, music -- it's all wonderfully done.
Most children's videos, in my opinion, attempt to babysit your child. Cedarmont Kids videos give you and your child songs to sing together, actions & hand gestures, and (for us) bring back many childhood memories. Please, do yourself and your child a favor, and check out these videos!
I've included a complete recording of our favorite piece from Action Bible Songs, "Rise and Shine (Arky Arky)". To make it a believable size, it was recorded at 8000 Hz, so it's nowhere near CD quality, but I was surprised how nice it came out even so. It should give you some idea of what kind of music is on these videos.
And of course, if you'd like to discuss anything about Cedarmont Kids or any other children's issues you feel strongly about, please
