Anna A. Kirby, 96, of N. Fifth Street, Newport, died Monday,
March 17, in Polyclinic Hospital, Harrisburg. She was born
March 8, 1901 in Newport to the late Harry and Sara Smee. She
was retired from the state Department of Revenue and a member
of Penbrook United Church of Christ. She was the widow of M.
Gilbert Kirby. Surviving are a daughter, Emma E. Smith of
Progress; two grandchildren; and three great-grand children.
Service were held March 20 in Myers Funeral Home, Newport,
with the Rev. Dr. Robert S. Stoudt officating. Burial was in
Newport Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to her
church, 56 Banks St., Harisburg 17103
