Ernest Kyle Hockenberry, 94, of 5037 Spring Road died Tuesday
in Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp. He was a retired
farmer and sawmiller; a former Carroll Twp. tax assessor; and
a member of Youngs United Methodist Church, the Shermans Dale
Lions Cub and Carlisle Eagles Aerie 1299.
Surviving are his wife,> Anna Smee Hockenberry; five daughters
Lois Brownawell, Rena Brunner and Wanda Cupp, all of Shermans
Dale, Myra Miller of York Springs and Audrey Kuhn of Boiling
Springs; two sisters, Florence Pittinger and Beatrice Stull,
both of Carlisle; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in his church.
Burial will be in the church cemetery. Viewing will be from 7
to 9 p.m. Friday in Boyer Funeral Home, New Bloomfield, and
10 to 11 a.m. Saturday in the church. Memorial contributions
may be made to Brotherhood Native American Outreach, PO Box 11,
New Bloomfield 17068, or his church, 40 Windy Hill Road,
Shermans Dale 17090.
