Edith L. Platts Smee, 82, of 1515 Red Bank Road, died Sunday in
York Hospital. She was a retired Pennsylvania Department of
Transportation clerk and a member of James A. Danner VFW Post 537
Ladies Auxiliary and Red Land Senior Center, both of Newberry
Twp. Surviving are her husband, Raymond W. Smee; two sons, Cloyd
R. of Springfield Twp. and Richard H. of Newberry Twp.; a
daughter, Marshella P. Swavely of Newberry Twp.; and seven
grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and two step-
great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 10 a.m. tomorrow
in Parthemore Funeral Home, New Cumberland. Burial will be in
Tri-County Memorial Gardens, Fairview Twp. Viewing will be
from 9 to 10 a.m. tomorrow at the funeral home. Memorial
contributions may be made to American Heart Association, Capital
Region Division, 1019 Mumma Road, Suite 200, Wormleysburg 17043.
