Evelyn M. Smeigh, 91, of York, died at 9:20 p.m. Tuesday at the
York County Hospital and Home. She was the wife of the late Oscar
C. Smeigh. The service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Wm. J.
Workinger Funeral Home Inc., 849 E. Market St., York. Burial will
be in Mount Rose Cemetery. Viewing will be 9 to 10 a.m.
Saturday at the funeral home. Mrs. Smeigh was born on Nov. 10,
1902, in York. She was the daughter of the late Howard and
Rosetta (Small) Geltz. She was a member of St. David's
Evangelical Congregational Church, Dover. Mrs. Smeigh is survived
by two daughters, Dorothy Stayman and Estella Warnecke, both of
York; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; several
great-great-grandchildren; three step-daughters, Beatrice Elicker
and Marguerite Lam, both of York, and Helen Utter of California;
several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and
three brothers, Stewart Geltz of Seven Valleys, Norman Geltz of
York, and Russell Geltz of Lakeland, Fla. Officiating at the
service will be her pastor, the Rev. Richard F. Christman.

Congregational Church Building Fund, 2411 Oakland Road, Dover
17315, or to York County Hospital and Home, 118 Pleasant Acres
Road, York 17402.
