Last Wednesday evening Mrs. Wm. H. Smeigh
passed away at her home some distance east of this
place. She had beena great sufferer from cancer for
several years and had undergone treatments which
seem to be a cure, but complications set in and she
passed away.
Jesse (Huss) Smeigh was the daughter of the late
Thompson Huss and wife and was born April 6, 1869,
died June 21, 1925, and was therefore aged 56 years, 2
months, and 18 days. In 1893 she was married to
William H. Smeigh, who survives her with the following
children: Mrs. Roy Gingenich of Juniata County; S. A.
Smeigh, of Miller township, and Edward at home. Mrs.
Smeigh was a faithful church worker and was always ready
to do a turn for any one. She will be be greatly missed in the
home and in the Grange where she held the office of Lecturer,
having charge of the Literary program.
Funeral Services were held at her late home on Saturday by
Rev. A. J. Martin, pastor of the local Methodist church.
Interment was maade in the Bloomfield Cemetery. The Pall-
bearers were her co-workers in the church and grange.
