Mabel M, Smee, 84, formerly of Shermans Dale, died Saturday.
March 7, 1998 in Forest Park Health Center, Carlisle. She was
born Dec 12, 1913 in Marysville to the late John and Margaret
(Brownawell) Kitner. She attended Young's Ynited Methodist
Church, Shermans Dale and was a member of New Bloomfield Senior
Center. She was the widow of Clair Mc. Smee, who died in 1996. Surviv-
ing are a son, Robert L., of Shermans Dale; four daughters,
Esther M. Wadsworth and Bettu J. Smee, both of Carlisle,
Arlene C. Souder of Newport and Anna M. Paulus of Shermans Dale.
two brothers, Archie Kitner of Mont Holly Sprungs and Samuel
Kitner of Marysville; three sisters, Violet Nickel and Ruth
Sipe, both of Carlisle. and Elsie Adams, of Mechanicaburg: 15
grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Parkison, who
died in 1991.
Services were held March 11 in Ewing Brothers Funeral Home,
Carlisle. Burial was in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens,
Carlisle. Memorial contributions may be made to Forest Park
