Marshall E. Hurley, 76, of Carlisle Springs, died Friday in the
Thornwald Home, Carlisle. He retired from the Exxon station at
the Plainfield Plaza of the Pennsylvania Turnpike;
was an Army veteran of World War II and recipient of three
Bronze Stars; and a member of St. Matthew's United Church of
Christ of Carlisle Springs and the Boiling Springs VFW.
Surviving are his wife, Grace V. Smee Hurley; two sons, Jacque
D. of Royersford and James E. of Carlisle; three daughters,
Marcia J. Leeds, Carole A. Chronister and Joan A. Hiser,
all of Carlisle; nine grandchildren; and three great-
grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in his church. Burial
will be in Young's Church Cemetery, Carroll Twp., Perry
County. Viewing will be from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday in the
church. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, is handling
arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to his church,
