Dr. Walter Jacoby, 69, of 246 E. Old York Road died Tuesday in
Carlisle Hospital. He was retired from the American Institute
of Cooperation in Washington, and was a former director of
agricultural education for Connecticut, and a vocational-
agriculture teacher.
He was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church,
Boiling Springs, and its Methodist men's group; president
of the Carlisle YMCA's MORA Club; and secretary of the Boiling
Springs Lions Club. He was a member of the Boiling
Springs Golden Age Club, the Cumberland-Carlisle chapter
of the American Association of Retired Persons, Kennett Lodge
175, F&AM, Kennett Square, Howell Royal Arch Chapter 202 and
the Brandywine Commandry 88 K.T. of West Chester, and the Lodge
Council Chapter Consistory Valley of Wilmington, Wilmington,
Del. Surviving are his wife, Pauline Smee Jacoby; a son, Navy
Capt. Lowell E. of Alexandria, Va.; two daughters, Wanda J. Lord
of Centreville, Va., and Sophie J. Kowzun of Laurel, Md.; two
brothers, Rufus of Silver Spring, Md., and Robert of Hershey; a
sister, Sara Wiest of Mohnton; a foster sister, Helen James of
Reading; and four grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in his church.
Burial will be in Longsdorf Cemetery, Silver Spring Twp.
Viewings will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at the
Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday
at his church. Memorial contributions may be made to support

Boiling Springs 17007 or to his church, 2 Forge Road, Boiling
Springs.
