Igor Rappelling

Brother Igor was recently doing a joint tactical and mountaineering exercise with some members of a Hungarian unit.  He states all is well and wishes everyone from the 194th a Great New Year.

I wish to thank Steve Bullock for "answering my call" for our classmate who had changed departments.  Greg Browning was the culprit.  He went from Amarillo, TX to Assistant Chief in Juneau, Alaska!  What a switch!  Greg's department and email have been updated in Section 1's listings.

Took a little trip to the NA this past Friday.  Stopped in a spoke with Jim Vance. His office is now on the second floor of the Madison Building, as are all the offices of the Communications Unit.  The "studio" is now on the first floor of the Madison Building, at the end of the hallway prior to going into the "gerbil tube" leading to the Library building.  Jim is well; he will be making a swing through some western states this summer, giving some talks.  If you want to drop him a note, he has finally joined us in the 21st Century - jvance@fbiacademy.edu

In the most recent National Academy Associate (May/June 2001), it listed some our Session Mates as being promoted:

Stephen C. Jones  Sec.5

Michael S. Long  Sec. 2

Joseph Maltby  Sec.5

Donnie K. Smith  Sec. 5

Congratulations!

What the hell did ET do to Section 5 that none of the rest of us got?  Must have been those pep talks!

I got an email from Brother Igor Matiasovski (Sec 1) - he says all is well in Slovakia and that he spent some time with Hans Ebner (Sec 4) on a skiingIgor and Team "holiday" this past March.  Igor said they had a great time.  He also enclosed a picture - I guess we're supposed to figure out which one is him!  And how many of our departments can afford Mercedes SUV's?  I guess the helicopter was grounded the day this picture was taken.

One promotion that didn't appear in the last issue of the National Academy Associate was one of Section 4's very own - Dave Campbell.  Dave has been promoted to Lieutenant Commander of Investigation.  Congrats Dave!

One change of assignments that has proven to be a big step - Tami Evans, late of Sparks, NV  PD, is now the Chief of Police for the Washoe County School District.  Our CONGRATULATIONS to Tami!

As soon as Detta sends some pictures of the mini-reunion from Vegas, they will be posted.  Understand only a handful of people made it, but they had a blast.  Dave Campbell says it was a great promotion party for he and Tami.

Well, one more from Section 5 is making bigger bucks now days.  While trying to get photos from the Mini-Reunion this past April, Detta FINALLY decided to let us in on the big news.  Yep. Detta made Captain!  Congratulations, Detta!  Keep up the good work!
