Nearing Dumgoyne in constant drizzle.

Henry the Hiker & Edward the Explorer

Easter Drumquhassle by Drymen

Nice kitchen! (say hello to the Belgian scouts)

Day 2

Thomas entertains a Danish couple with a few songs.

Green grapes by the thousand, ready for the autumn.

Approaching Conic Hill in misty conditions

First view of Loch Lomond from the descent of Conic Hill.

Day 3

Fancy a swim in Loch Lomond?

It's freezing cold!

Philip joins in after some persuasion.

We camped with Philip behind Rowardennan Youth Hostel. (Note the midgie net on my head ... a good investment).

Day 4

Young family from Renfrew on the way to Crianlarich.

Monument to Bill Lobban, who died saving the life of a friend.

The steep, steep sides of Ben Vorlich.

"Where is Rob Roy's Cave?" said Thomas.

Doune Bothy

Inside Doune Bothy with the Belgians

Day 5

Check the "tyres"

Looking back at the north end of Loch Lomond

"Who is this handsome brute?"

Crianlarich train station: half way to Fort William.

Day 6

Great view from the Crianlarich hills. Lovely sunny day.

St. Fillan: a famous walker.

Thomas Larasser: an even more famous walker.

Bruce's sword?

Thomas, the great historian of our time.

The big puddle where Bruce chucked his weapons at the Battle of Dalrigh, 1306.

Just checking the map ... and how far we still have to go.

"Ah, luxury"

A well deserved rest at Tyndrum campsite.

Summer heat.

Day 7

Beinn Dorain 1074 m

Beinn an Dothaidh 996 m and Beinn Dorain 1074 m as seen from Bridge of Orchy

Philip shows off his T Shirt

Day 8

The old drove road to Glencoe. The beginning of a horrible day.

We catch up and then overtake the Belgians once more.

Near Ba Bridge.

The start of Glencoe. Kingshouse must be nearby ... somewhere.

One very tired Belgian.

Day 9

Buachaille Etive Mor 1022 m

Edward and Henry take it easy.

Our mountain rescuer from Carlisle (very useful to have on the Devil's Staircase.)

The Devil's back door.

"I belong to ...."

Two very fit madmen on bikes.

"It's so green"

We did all our own washing, drying, cleaning ....

MacDonald Hotel, Kinlochleven.

Looking south to Glencoe.
