Our K-1 Fiance Visa timeline 1999
April 6 - Mailed I-129F Fiance Visa petition
to the Nebraska Service Center.
April 14 - Return receipt arrives. NSC received the petition on April 9.
April 24 - Notice of Action received, dated April 19.
June 1 - Received request for additional information. Apparently they wanted a true, certified copy of Arvid's divorce papers and not the copy we had originally sent.
June 5 - Sent back information.
June 16 - Notice of Approval received, dated June 10.
July 13 - Arvid gets paperwork from American consulate in Vancouver.
July 15 - Arvid faxes checklist and I-230 to Vancouver.
July 16 - Vancouver replies to my calls and faxes with an interview and medical exam appointment date of July 29.
July 28 - Arvid has trouble with his vehicle halfway to Vancouver and has to turn back to Regina...he won't be able to make the appointments.
July 29 - Vancouver replies to my frantic calls, emails and faxes with new appointments for August 4.
August 4 - Arvid receives his K-1 visa! Crosses the border at Peace Arch between Vancouver and Seattle later that evening.
August 7 - Arvid is HOME!
August 19 - ARVID & LYNN ARE MARRIED!
October 27 - Filed AOStatus, AP and EAD in person at St. Louis INS office.
October 29 - Arvid picked up his EAD card.
November 4 - INS-StL called, Arvid's AP is ready to be picked up.
December 4 - Appointment letter for fingerprints rec'd, appt. for Dec. 16.
December 15 - Picked up AP.
2000
January 26 - Fingerprints taken at StL
office. (Original appt. not kept because of work schedule.)
March 8 - Received letter with AOS interview date of April 11! That's really quick considering the timelines for some offices.
April 11 - AOS interview at StL office. No decision was made at that time. :(
April 19 - Received letter saying the AOS
was approved as of April 18th!
Arvid's now a conditional permanent resident!
June 19 - Received Arvid's GREEN CARD in the mail!
***Now we don't have to deal with the INS until January of 2002 to have
the
conditions removed.***
