Mom and Dad

  • Home to Eville for Memorial Day weekend - great road trip to KY with Julia to visit Margo and hike with the mosquitos.

June
Amy and I at Rose Garden
  • Joined "old timers" in Chicago for camping trip in WI
  • Hosted my ole Chicago roomie, Amy. She got me up bright and early at 6am to workout (but the workout room didn't open til 8am) so went wondering in the famous Portland Rose Gardens.
  • Had to take "my baby" in for first major repair - new brakes. My Dad says they're major anyway:)

July
Steve visiting
View hiking at Angel's Rest
Steve and I at Crown Point
  • Took a great 7 mile hike to Burnt Lake (using my new handy-dandy PNW hiking guide), only it was cloudy so could not see Mt. Hood's reflection in the lake.
  • Celebrated the 4th with friends from NY (Debbie and Angelo) watching fireworks downtown
  • Enjoyed best work meeting ever in Charleston, SC. Jetskiing, swimming in the ocean waves, collecting conch shells, getting a haunted tour of downtown, historic Charleston, scavenger hunting on bikes and, oh yeah, presenting our marketing team goals for the year.
  • Hosted old college friend Steve. Gave him the grand tour of Portland which included a hike up to Angel's Rest, an odd dreamlike theater performance, Sauvie's island, therma-rest shopping and pitching a tent in my garage.
  • Joined Chicago buddies for annual camping trip to WI. 40 people singing around the campfire (until Ranger Rick showed up and shushed us). Twas great fun despite the mosquitos.

August
Linda and I mountain biking in Keystone
Mike and I at Haystack Rock
  • Started out with a great three-day weekend visiting friend Linda in Denver, CO, at her grand condo. We got adventurous and took a gondola up the mountain at Keystone and rode mountain bikes down. Just a few bruises to show for it all. The best part was getting whopped by her 70+ year old Dad in tennis. (I want a re-match!)
  • Quick business trip to Dallas where I got a chance to meet up with high school friend Shari; in Irving, TX, saw the fabulous sculpture of "Las Colinas Mustangs" by Robert Glen
  • New man in my life: Michael J. Halleron, CPA
  • Mike's first visit to Portland. We went to Haystack Rock where I promptly locked my keys in the trunk. But Mike brought me an ice cream cone, so everything worked out just fine!
