Lasagna


Lasagna

  1. 1 lb. ground beef - (I use 1 1/2 lb.)
  2. 1 clove garlic minced (Or 2 teas. powder)
  3. 2 Tables. parsley
  4. 1 Tables. basil
  5. 1 1/2 teas. salt
  6. 1 no 303 can tomatoes
  7. 2 - 6 oz. cans tomato paste
  8. 2 small cans mushrooms
  9. 2 teas. oregano
  10. 1 fz. small pkg. of chopped spinach - optional

Cook meat until brown - drain fat - add above ingredients and simmer 1/2 hr. 2 cups ricotta or cottage cheese 1/3 cup parmesan cheese 2 eggs beaten 1 teas. salt 1/2 teas. peper Combine the above ingredients Other ingredients needed: 1 to 1 1/2 lb. mozzarella cheese - grated & Lasagna noodles - cooked & drained ( use 8 or 9 ) Pour a thin layer of sauce on bottem ( use a deep pan) cover with noodles - 1/2 the cheese mixture 1/2 the grated mozzarella . Repeat. Remember - Sauce on bottom and sauace on top ( save just a little for the top.) Cover with foil _ Bake 350 for 20 min., uncover and bake 20 min. longer.

Tip: You can determine the age of an egg by placing it in a bowl of cold water. If it lays on its side, it is fresh. If it stands at an angle it is at least three days old, and at least 10 days old if it stands on end.
