Layered Salad

  1. 1 small head lettuce
  2. 1 cup diced celery
  3. 1 medium diced green pepper
  4. 1 cup diced onion
  5. 4 sliced or chopped hard cooked eggs
  6. 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas - thawed
  7. 8 slices bacon - fried and crumbled
  8. 2 cups mayonnaise

If desired, substitute 1 cup sour cream for half the mayonnaise.
Fill a 9 by 13 dish 1/2 full of shredded lettuce.
In layers over lettuce add remaining ingredients, one at a time.
Spread over top: 2 cups mayonnaise and sprinkle with 2 tablespoons sugar.
Then with 2 cups grated cheese.
Bacon on top.
Cover and chill overnight.


1
