Sugar Cookie


Note: This is a white and real soft topped sugar cookie

2 cups packed brown sugar
1 cup crisco
1 cup butter milk
3 small eggs or 4 large eggs

Beat till creamy

Add:
6 cups flour
1 teasp. salt
1 teasp. baking powder
1 teasp. baking soda
1 teasp. vanilla
1/2 teasp. nutmeg (optional)

Mix well - actually I use my hands
Roll and cut with cookie cutters
Bake at 375 deg.
For 5 to 7 minutes
Ungreased cookie sheet

I had given this recipe to a good friend (Roberta Perry) probably 30 years ago. I had long forgotten about it - until this Xmas - I went to visit one of her Daughters (Gina Call) and she had found the recipe in one of her Moms books - and had made the cookies - and showed me the tattered looking recipe. So I decided to put it on my Home Page.
OH!!!! I had a couple and they were quite good.
