I have been admiring the graphics on your page when you post. just so beautiful, and the Indian images certainly struck a chord. Just found out I have this. I don't know much about it and wasn't very pleased with the doctor who told me I have it and that he wasn't going to chart it and that I didn't want another label. He also said it is an excuse to be lazy and complain. I have a riend that has it and it does seem to bother her only when it is convinent for her. She doesn't seem to be bothered at work where she enjoys her job and friends, but is bothered by it at home when it comes time to clean and also when her husband wants to o something she doesn't want to. But if it is sometning she does want to do, then she isn't bothered by it. So I am really confused with this. I just know I have had the aches and headaches most of my life and missed some school and fun things because of t. Now I am experiancing the etreme pain, headaches, joint pain and the memory loss, concentration, foggy mind, I could go on and on as I am sure you are very familier with. Anyway, Help in Kansas would be greatly appriciated. I just want to understand an know how to manage this. Thanks, Kay +

Hi Mimi, I believe I have spoken to you recently when I visited the Fibro chat in Delphi recently. I have had fibromyalgia for 18 years now, was diagnosed 12 years ago,(one of the fortunate ones to find a great rheumatologist). Anyhow I wanted to tell you how beautiful and inspirational your webpage is (I also collect angels). You have a really nice web-page. Thank you for sharing! It is possible that I could have Shogrens...I have read a little about this in my FM books. I found out last Aug. that I had FMS. I have been on the list since fall and have written a few times. Most of the time I read but don't always write. I have all I can do to get done with what I need to do. I garden, quilt,doing a Family Tree read, have 12 grandchildren, a husband who has really been there for me. I have been married for 49yrs and can't believe that we are closer than we ever have been. Blessings to you! Funny how life seems to be similar for many of us. We all have some physical burden we must endure- mine is Crohn's disease. Husband's- My third (17 years of him) is starting to get on my nerves. My son, Adam, is trying to begin college nd not get married too young. He is 20. He is a procrastinator(gee, maybe they could do a movie about him, like the Terminator?) but he is very wonderful and we have great communication. My daughter, Morgan, is finishing 6th grade at a private Christian school. She loves the Lord and is very disciplined about homework, holding people to their word, etc. She has her Dad's determinism and my sensitivity. She is always winning awards for her character- we are very proud of her. I work for Clinique cosmetics and am also a hairdresser, massage therapist, and a singer. I only sing where He leads me now. I never had the guts to go big time, thank God. Now I could handle it, but, oh well. I'll wait for the eternal Choir where we will sing praises forever. And it couldn't be too soon. But I will stay on this bus for as long as He wants me here. So, Melanie, it has been nice getting to know you. Perhaps we will correspond again. This is my first time responding to a ebsite- is that what you call it? Anyway, it was fun.Morgan and I driving up to see Grandma and Grandpa manana. I really enjoyed reading your story. My heart goes out to you. I can relate in some areas. I too have been Divorced (but newly re-married), raising kids of 3 different ages, I am a RN but my most complaint about working was the fatigue that it caused me. thers seem to be able to handle the long hours, but it was hard for me. But I have not seen a Doc. yet about my symtoms I guess I am leary of finding anything out. But I will get the guts one of these days. And I was reading about it affecting your finger . You have a wonderful site and thanks so much for sharing your story. It is not far from my own, except for the growing pains and I ended up with fibro after a one car rollover on Black Ice while on the job. It was a great relief to me to have a dx finally myself. The accident was in January of 93, but I wasn't diagnosed with it until I was sent to the pain clinic in Thermopolis Wyoming in March and April of 95. I did think, as many others, that I was dying r going crazy or both. God gave me a revalation about a year ago about suicide, I woke up (as if we ever really sleep) in the morning thinking that the reason why people committ suicide or even contemplate it is because of the "constant fights" we go thru to be recognized as t uly suffering and having to fight our way for this and acceptance. The next thought (revelation) I had was why good parents could actually kick good kids out of thier homes, especially if they are struggling with inner turmoil from some illness or disease. Raising and arguing with them to become good decent people in li e wore me out, and I was very close to packing my youngest son's stuff and sending him to live with his dad. He was 17 at the time, and it made us both cry when I shared it with him and asked that he please make a better effort of not debating every discu sion we had. I had a sisterinlaw who did commit suicide and I remember thinking (and judging at that time) of how selfish she was and such a coward to do this horrible thing to her family. But since God gave me the revelation, I figured out that she really wasn't sel ish or a coward, but tired of the fight of life every day.Since then I have not had any serious thoughts of killing myself, just bad times when I wish I could go to sleep and just not wake up. Well, I think I am starting to do the fibro-ramble so I'll close. Just wanted to tell you thank you for caring enough to share with others. Our Fmily's are the ones who help us keep our sanity when it seems the world is against us. Mary Ann

Some of your story I could have written myself. I have 7 children, (one deceased at age 24) a husband, 3 dogs, a cat, and 16 grandchildren. I can sympathize with your story and your pain because I have it too. In addition I have had 2 hip replacements nd am currently on IV infusion therapy that I do myself for infection in the hip joint. I think that you just have to keep looking at the positive things in your life, adn do those things you enjoy that you can. I have discovered that there are many mor people who are much worse off then me. I give thanks everyday for what I have, and pray for the strength to get through the bad times. The FM sites and the Total Hip sites that I have become part of are a good part of my day, and I am grateful for the also. imust say that you are a very stronf individual. & i admire you greatly. i can relate a lot to your childhood & college days. i have always pulled thru the aches & pains w/+ attitude & strong willpower. of course it does don't always work & i have my ark times. However, life must continue, the ambitions & dreams must be achieved. I can't let FM rule my life. I feel encouraged after reading your story. i must say that 3 years ago i met w/Rhumetologist and she talked to me for a long time 7 after our conversation was over she recommended the usual exercise 7 prescribed me sleeping pills so i could get some sleep for about 6mth. i took the prescription reluctuntly, 7 within 6-7 wks. i met her again - i was able to sleep on my own, i had already quit t king pills & working more than before! My doc. told me that with FM ONLY + attitude 7 high self-esteem helps and it would get me anywhere I wanted to be. and I believe in her even today. I haven't seen her again in 3 years, I just remember her diagnosi . O well, please don't think I am bragging but I certainly don't want to consider myself a VICTIM! TX for reading my gibberish . . .P.P.

Mel, You know we all love and pray for you. I hope all of the detractors in your life will be resolved. I know that God will intervene, if we ask and If we look for the WAY and make decisions based in Christ. I'm working on teaching my son, John, the 23rd Psalm because I would like to live in those green pastures with Jesus instead of this world of troubles.
