Here is a poem Betty wrote for Valentine's Day 2000!

TO A GLOBAL CUPID...

For youthful years that I recall, the Cupid whom we'd sometimes call for help in matters of the heart was closely linked to some small part that he might play -- facilitating meeting -- later, maybe even dating some real or fancied Romeos!

But time sped by -- we settled for what loves our "real world" held in store! And relegated Cupid to support for families, good friends, too! (A sentimental kind of guy who said, "I love you -- who cares why?" 'mid flowers, hearts, and poemeos...)

Why change?...The WORLD -- for me, for you, the WHOLE is ours -- both WHAT and WHO... and furthermore, we keep in touch -- by E-mail, cable, TV, and such... Relationships MUST be recast if we would make the WHOLE THING last! And wars don't work -- so that leaves love...

So, back to Cupid, our old friend... If we don't want this world to end, let knowing HEARTS lead, shore to shore, where never man has led, before... And that means ALL mankind, united in peace, and Justice -- both requited when they with love go hand in glove...
