Betty sent this poem in remembrance of Grandpa:
To Archie...
His life was long, and filled with much to challenge thought, and argument -- he relished both with equal joy...
Indoors and out, he sought the essence -- then the source of good or ill for all who stood to benefit, or to suffer from what was, or what might be, or had been...
Some things held greater claim in interest or appeal or simply challenge to his wit, or principles, or love... and he'd respond "in spades..."
His intellect was not the only force that spurred the activist within to seize the day -- or persevere long after others failed. The sense of self-in-charge was key...
Still, balancing the odds, and weighing the consequences, for all who were involved, resulted not in search for victory alone... but watch the change occur -- and feel a smile...
