Charles
Leland Walker, 53, Robinson, died about 7:10 p.m. Tuesday at his residence
of an apparent heart attack.
Born
May 18, 1939 in Robinson Township of Crawford County, he was the son of
Russell Walker and Lucille Esther (Willis) Walker. He was a heavy
equipment operator for Local #150, International Union of Operating Engineers,
Countryside. He served in the U.S. Army from October 1957 to March
1967. He was a member of the E.M. Coulter Post #69, American Legion;
Disabled American Vets; Loyal Order of the Moose #1369, Robinson; and the
Veterans of Foreign Wars, Warrensville.
August
6, 1955 he married Emma M. Hightshoe and she survives. Also surviving
are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Tony Walker, Robinson and Charles L.
"Chuck" and Maria Walker, Flat Rock; three daughters, Mrs. John (Cheryl)
Milam, Robinson, Mrs. Gary (Monika) Weck, Palestine, and Mrs. Matthew (Lisa)
McMillan, Olney; two brothers, Wayne Walker, Slidell, La., and Russell
Darrell Walker, Denver, Colo.; nine grandchildren; a great-grandchild;
and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding
him in death is his father, Russell Walker, in October 1967.
Graveside
service is 10:30 a.m. Friday at Hutsonville Cemetery, Hutsonville, with
Rev. Mike Kesling officiating. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Thursday
and until time of service Friday at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson.
Military
graveside rites will be conducted by E.M. Coulter Post #69, American Legion;
Crawford Post #4549, V.F.W.; Amvets Post #33; and the Pittman-Laughery
Post #742.
Memorials
may be made to the American Diabetes Association with envelopes available
at the funeral home.
