Our family isn't blessed with the best pancreas genes.

My brother's son died Monday night at Beloit Memorial Hospital's emergency room due to complications from Diabetic keto acidosis. Here is Jared's death notice from BDN:

Jared Allan Preuschl, 20, of Beloit, died Monday, in Beloit Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, Wis. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, in the funeral home.

Shocking, yes. Too young, yes. But Jared is now spared a terrible struggle with a debillitating disease. 

Jared is the kid in the middle, surrounded by all his cousins from the Preuschl side of the family.  I think the photo was taken in 2002.
