Testing Drag and Drop Photo Blogging from Flickr to 360 using Internet Exploder 6

Ok... I'm going to open two IE windows; one here to edit a blog post and another on Flickr to drag photos over to here from...

That's one down... one more to go...

And it worked!

Note: You drag from the main Flickr page of whatever photo you want to put in the blog. Click ON the PHOTO and drag TO and RELEASE IN EDIT window on the 360 page.

It's also a good idea to put something IN the Edit box BEFORE click and drag operations. (Something means anything... a description (like above) or a space or line or a character of ... just something.)

This works fine unless you have IE! no drag and drop. WAH!

No, actually, it DOES work in IE. Earlier problems and comments are no longer present. I am not sure what IE settings it requires, and I use nothing more for real-time browser security than the Google toolbar (and even 1/2 of its features are disabled) and ETrust AV; if others use something more or something different (NortonIS, Yahoo, AOL (blech!), etc. or other browser enhancements, you may not get working results. I don't know (and I don't want to know).

All subsequent entries in my blog - including this one - were done using two IE windows.

Thanks for your help with it myself still don't get it. Are you saying that I need to have the GIF already in flickr to be able to drag them and retease it were I need it to be?

Files ending with .JPG or .GIF refer to a file type. By default Windows hides this extension which is why PC newbies get so lost when we talk about this stuff. (A setting I think is monumentally STUPID!)

The JPG format does NOT support animation frames (e.g. "glitter graphics" and the like) so to pull that off you need either Shockwave Flash (not allowed) or GIF animation images. (GIF doesn't support enough color for photographs so JPG is defacto photo standard.)

You upload your image files to Flickr following its guidelines. (See: http://www.flickr.com/guidelines.gne on Flickr.) You upload them in whatever format you've created them in.

So, yes, the photos have to uploaded and on flickr to start with in order to drag them into the blog editing window on 360.
