What's up, what happened, and why not?
These opinions are my own and you are welcome to them.
No new photos?

I've been taking a down week, recovering from all the activity of last week. I also needed to arrange a few photo reprints -

- for orders placed during ArtWalk 2006 and that's not something you can do on a bike ride. (And is a very good thing to have to do! <grin>)

If anyone who ordered a photo is reading this - take heart - they are in the pipeline! Delay is mounting the big guy above as it is 4 feet long and requires a bit longer board than you find with 'in-stock' materials.

As mentioned earlier, being in Artwalk means you can't actually do Artwalk so I saw little to nothing of the event itself.  I didn't get to ride my bike on two gloriously beautiful days and photo ops were limited. But response was great... much better than I'd ever imagined and there are opportunities to explore and develop. (Hint: Taking the photos is the easy part...)

Speaking of riding the bike and taking photos...

I took a header over the handle bars last night after a kid darted into the path in front of me.  I was going slow (I'd seen them goofing around, harassing a bird near its nest along the riverbank) and yelled twice to "watch out" but the one kid never did hear. Even so, I was going with enough momemtum to flip over the front of the bike, landing mostly on my shoulder and rolling to a stop against a lamp post.

Someone called 911 mostly because it looked worse to them than it felt to me.

The accident happened along the bike path, just before I got to the place where I took this photo last year:

Wood Family Fishing Bridge

So... while I have new photos to share, I'm just not having time or energy to do it. Last night's somersaulting bike fun didn't help, but a three day weekend should fix that... hooray!

Addendum (evening 5/26): After I started moving around today, discovered I was sore in areas I wasn't aware of yesterday - esp. my shoulders/neck. Went to work, but it wasn't much fun. Apparently doing handstands on a moving bike with a rolling somersault dismount was a little too much for my upper body to handle. Ouch...
