On an evening last week, I was startled by motion outside the picture window next to my desk. When I looked out, there was a mother and her 6 ducklings parading past my window, on their way to the Rock River (?).  The funny thing is, I live just over a MILE from the Rock River and there isn't so much as a pond within 2 blocks of my house.

I managed to grab a camera and get the photo above. I left in a bit of window in the cropped version so viewers can see how the ducks were just beneath my PC perch here. I also caught a few distant views after they crossed the street, as they worked their way around the neighbor's house, making a duck-line for the river.
