I don't like the changes that were made to Yahoo Photos. I really like the album feature.. On Snapfish you have to buy so many photo prints every x amount of months.. I don't buy prints.. I print them myself..
I like the online storage, if something would happen to my computer at least the picturs I have on Yahoo would survive.. OH WELL, what can a person do...
I willprobably switch to flickr , but start putting everything on CD and let it go at that.
Thanks for the information

Flickr offers unlimited storage of full-resolution (up to 10 Meg file size) photos. Unfortunately, the FREE Flickr accounts can only see the most recent 200 photo uploaded and contain advertising. However... for *only* $24.95/year you can have full access to the unlimited goodness, NO Advertising (for you on Flickr AND anyone viewing your photos), and off-site, non-flickr.com use of ALL your images!

That stuff makes me wonder why anyone would use something else...

Oh yeah... Flickr calls their version of photo albums "Sets" and "Collections." Sets are limited for FREE users, unlimited for paying users.

Not to mention all the little extensions and 3rd-party APIs available to enhance Flickr - Check our Flickr Toys sometime: http://bighugelabs.com/flickr/

Man!!! I'm so glad I checked in on your blog, Mark. I hadn't heard about Yahoo Pictures. Dag! Months ago I had started putting all my photos on there, before I discovered Flickr. So, now I better get started "moving" them over to Flickr before I lose them altogether. Thanks for keeping everyone up to date on this stuff.

I'd wait, Karen. It sounds like Yahoo Photos will eventually provide a means to migrate your photos to Flickr in some automagical fashion. At least that's the way I read Stewart's (founder of Flickr) comments here:

I use forums so Photobucket is easier for me it gives you the codes to use and Photobucket doesnt mind gif format either I use it for storage for my website
I have 2 Flickrs because I ain't paying for a pro account but it does let me put HUGE photos on there, Flickr doesn't like you using it for website storage either
so yeah Photobucket for me

The problem a lot had with Y Photos you couldn't put the pictures in a blog post as they just disapeared at least with Flickr and Photbucket you can do multi pic posts

FLickr does provide the HTML for posting photos off-site. When you click on the ALL SIZES link on your own photos, you'll see HTML code snippet under each size option. This helps make it easy to copy and paste on other sites. And, unlike Photobucket, there are no bandwidth restraints - even for Flickr's free users.

I noted discussions at Flickr mentioned how they are planning to give any Yahoo Photos users migrating their collection to Flickr 3-month paid ("Pro" status) accounts as a teaser. Doing the math, that's worth $6.25 in real money! (Esp. to me since I pay for Flickr now and haven't really used Y!Photos!)

Well, if Microsoft had bought Yahoo, I would've left Yahoo. Any fate is better than that.
