AL's PLACE!

Water Drip

Hello, I'm Al.
Welcome to my place. My main interests are:
Genealogy, Bowling, Fishing, Camping,
but mainly herein it will be my family genealogy.
The cube on page 2 contains photos of me, and
the HOWETH family crest, or more appropiatly, the
HOWETH achievement of arms. If you are connected to the
HOWETH family in any way, Please contact me by
e-mail, or ICQ, and let me know.

I have been doing genealogy research of my family name off and on
for the past 18 or so years. I have been able to trace back as far as
1798, Tenn. My g.g.g.grandfather married a
Nancy Ann James.
They had 16 children, the forth of which was my g.g.grandfather.
He, as well as at least one of his brothers, is mentioned in some Texas
State history books, one being "The First 100 Years of Cooke County."
My g.grandfather,
Harvey H. Howeth,Jr., (1860-1934)
is reported to have been the best rifle shot in the whole
state of Texas, as well as one of the best of the
old-time 'bronc-busters'.

It has been relayed to me by several of my aunts and uncles, and
also by my mother and father, that even at the age of 60,
he could ride an unbroken horse to a stand-still better than
many men half his age. Unfortunatly, I never had the chance to know him,
as he died before I was born. It is also noted in the family history that I've
found, that he, HARVEY H. HOWETH, JR., along with one of his brothers, JEFF,
attended the funeral of none other than
FRANK JAMES,
some few miles outside Chickasha, Okla.,
going there by horse and buggy.

On Page 2, you will find photos of various
members of the HOWETH FAMILY, including my children.
More can be found at My Other Place. This, and my
other pages will be updated from time to time.
