Sand Tarts



  • 1 cup flour
  • ¾ stick butter
  • ½ t. salt
  • ½ cup chopped nuts
  • ½ t. ice water
  • ½ t. vanilla
  • powdered sugar
  • Sift flour, add salt, and cut in butter.
  • Add vanilla, ice water, and nuts, mix well.
  • Shape into balls.
  • Bake 15 minutes at 375 or until very lightly browned.
  • Roll into powdered sugar while still warm.
  • Cool then roll again
  • 4 dozen
