Swiss Cheese Bread

This is one of my mom's recipes. It is great for "gift" baskets. This recipe also freezes very well wrapped in foil.

4 C. flour
2 T. sugar
1 T. baking powder
1-1/2 t. salt
1/2 C. butter or margarine, chilled and cut into pieces
4 C. (16 oz) grated Swiss cheese
1 T. dried dill weed
2 C. milk
2 eggs

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. In a large bowl, combine first 4 ingredients. Using a pastry blender or 2 knives, cut butter into flour mixture until mixture resembles coarse meal. Stir in cheese and dill. In a medium bowl, whisk together milk and eggs. Add milk mixture to flour mixture; stir just until moistened. Pour batter evenly into 7 greased 3 x 51/2 inch loaf pans. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes in pan; turn onto a wire rack to cool completely. Store in an airtight container. Give with instructions for reheating.

To reheat; preheat oven to 300 degrees. Bake uncovered 3 to 5 minutes or until heated through.
