Call Quinnipiac Travel at 1-800-203-0937 and ask for Ralph, Diane or Joan and identify yourself with the Karachi American School Alumni Group. They are authorized to give a 5% discount on the lowest published fare into either Hartford or New York. If you fly USAIR to LaGuardia the discount is 7%.

This only applies to new reservations, not if you already have tickets--it is not retroactive.

     

AIRPORTS

1 Bradley International, Hartford, CT (35 minutes from New Haven)
  2 La Guardia Airport, New York (1 hour 15 minutes from New Haven if traffic is moving which usually occurs from 2:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. otherwise expect delays especially on a Friday)
  3 JFK, New York (1 hour 30 minutes from New Haven: see note above for La Guardia regarding traffic)
  4 Tweed New Haven Airport (10 minutes from downtown New Haven) service is limited but very accessible if you are coming from DC. Mostly small prop planes. Taxi service available to the Hotel.

YOU DON' T NEED TO RENT A CAR

  All events will take place within walking distance of the hotel. A chartered a bus will take everyone from the hotel to the picnic and back.

  Amtrak from Boston, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and DC. Metro North service from Grand Central Station in New York City.

DRIVING

  From I-91 South: Take Exit 1/Route 34. From I-95 North and South: Take Exit 47; Proceed to Exit 1/Route 34; Proceed to Church Street and turn Right; At 3rd light turn left onto Chapel Street; At next light turn left onto Temple Street; Hotel is located on the left in the middle of the block. There is a fee for parking in the hotel. NEED A MAP ?

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

FRIDAY, OCT 6

  12:00 noon - 6:00 p.m. ARRIVAL
Check in at front desk and then come to Mezzanine level, Hospitality Suite for your Welcome Package. Meet up with friends, relax and catch-up. Note: Hospitality Suite will be open 24 hours a day for our exclusive use, so if you can't sleep and want to visit with friends and talk all night, feel free!
    6:00 - 7:00 p.m. COCKTAIL HOUR
15th Floor Galileo Bar (Cheese & Crackers and Vegetable Crudite provided. Cash Bar - we apologize for this but the cost would be prohibitive at the hotel bar to have an open bar.)

    7:00 - 9:30 p.m. BUFFET DINNER
15th Floor, The Observatory Room adjacent to the Bar. Menu: Steamship Round of Beef, Pasta Station, Salad Bar.

    9:30 - 11:00 DESSERT and COFFEE BAR
Remember, if you' re having too much fun to quit at 11, the Hospitality Suite (Mezzanine level) is ours 24 hours a day.


SATURDAY, OCT 7

  8:00 - 10:00 BUFFET BREAKFAST
Mezzanine Level, College Room.
Menu: Juice, Fresh Fruit and Yogurt; Dry Cereals, Nut and Grain Mueslix; Assorted Muffins and Breakfast Breads.


    10:00 a.m. MEET IN the LOBBY
Join our guided walking tour of the historic New Haven Green and parts of Yale Campus, or take a stroll up Chapel Street and visit the boutiques and museums that are just steps from the hotel. Maybe just relax in the Hospitality Suite and visit with friends.

    12:00 NOON MEET IN THE LOBBY
Board the bus to Lighthouse Park for a New England Clambake. Menu: Rhode Island Clam Chowder, Steamers, Barbecue Chicken & Ribs, Corn on the Cob, Baked Beans & Potato Salad, Cookies & Brownies, Cold Drinks and Beer.

    7:00 p.m. DINNER and DANCE
LoRicco Ballroom, 216 Crown Street, New Haven (around the corner from The Omni Hotel) Menu: Carved Roast Beef with Madeira and Mushroom Sauce, Pasta with Sun Dried Tomato and Broccoli, Chicken Francaise, Stuffed Sole, Oven Roasted Potatoes, String Beans Almondine, Italian Pastries & Coffee. Beer, wine and soda will be provided. You may B.Y.O.B., as the setups are provided with dinner. Music by The Key West Trio (formerly The Shags)
