Lynwood Earl Robbins

Generation No. 10

LYNWOOD EARL ROBBINS (WILLIAM MANSON9, ISAAC TOLMAN8, THOMAS G "TOMMY"7, THOMAS6, ARTHUR5, ARTHUR4, WILLIAM3, THOMAS2, THOMAS1) was born 22-Jan-1907 in Wilmington, New Hanover, NC, and died 1928 in Oxford, Franklin County NC.

Tubby, as everyone knew him, was a large young man who looked very much like his Grandfather Isaac Tolman Robbins.  He iinherited all of the musical talent from his parents and could play almost any instrument he could find.  He graduated from North Carolina State College in 1927 as a biology major; however, he played in the school band and in several small orcastras in and around Raleigh.  He received an offer to teach at Oxford High School in Oxford, NC after graduation.  Even though he was engaged to a girl named Lilia, they were never married.  While in Oxford he was well liked by the students and faculty alike.  He was always cheerful and fun loving.  He died in the Oxford Hospital in 1928 of pneumonia.   He is buried in Oakwood Cemetery in Raleigh.
