OBITUARY
Funeral of Cameron Joseph Deveaux,
August 29th,1999
Cameron was born on
May 22,1983 at the Princess Margaret Hospital in Nassau, Bahamas. He
became known to his family as "Sweet Joy" because of his
affectionate personality. It was this same fun-loving personality that
caused him to be well-known and loved by many in Sea Breeze Estates
where he spent most of his life.
Cameron began his elementary education at Temple Christian
Schools and then transferred to Kingsway Academy to complete his
elementary education. While at Kingsway Academy, his enthusiasm for
athletics was born as he won several sports awards for his performance
on the track. This love and natural talent for athletics was later
fostered in the future as an athlete showed great promise as he also
trained with "The Wanderers Track and Field Club" in Canada.
In addition to the standards of excellence Cameron set in track
and field, he was also highly commended by his teachers for his
leadership abilities as a "Peer Counsellor." Cameron was
well known by many persons at both St. Mary's University and Dalhousie
University in Halifax. His outgoing and vivacious personality earned him
the respect of these university students, and he was therefore
considered an honorary member of their Caribbean Societies.
This past summer as a student employee, Cameron enjoyed working
at the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture, where he won the affection
of his co-workers.
On August 19,1999 Cameron said farewell to this world to embrace his
heavenly Father.
